2012 Western Automotive Conference

The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) in partnership with J.D. Power and Associates has created the Western Automotive Conference, which will be held at the Biltmore Hotel on Nov. 27. Highlights of the half-day conference, hosted by the Los Angeles Auto Show in association with the Greater Los Angeles New Car Dealers Association (GLANCDA), include: keynote remarks and presentations from top-level executives on the state of the industry and U.S. economy; panel discussions with automakers, innovative new-car dealers and allied professionals; and a networking lunch and reception.

The LA Auto Show Advanced Technology Showcase is a Press Days expo connecting automotive technology companies with automakers, media, analysts and other potential customers and partners that attend Press Days.

The Technology Showcase, presented by the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, will focus not only on the technology helping to transform the way consumers think about transportation, but also address how these advancements are helping mitigate the issues of distracted driving created by increasingly connected drivers.

Green Car of the Year Award
South Hall Lobby

For the eight consecutive year, Green Car Journal will present its Green Car of the Year® award honoring environmental leadership in the automotive field. The winning vehicle is announced during a morning press conference at the Los Angeles Auto Show Press Days on Nov. 29 at the South Hall Lobby stage.

Green and Advanced Technology Ride and Drive

The exclusive media ride-and-drive highlights both “green” vehicles as well as those featuring advanced in-car technology such as automatic park assist, radar-based object detection systems and driver assist technologies. This event brings together one of the broadest selections of green and advanced technology vehicles for side-by-side test drives on open city streets as well as in closed course demonstrations. It is anticipated that more than 30 all-new vehicles will be available from more than a dozen manufacturers. Specific vehicles available to drive will be announced shortly.

Design Challenge Presentations
1:00 -2:30 pm - Room 515

Come watch some of today’s leading automotive designers as they make their final presentation to a panel of judges in their effort to win the 9th annual Design Challenge competition. This year studios participating include Bentley, BMW, General Motors, Honda North America, Honda Japan, Mercedes-Benz and Subaru.
