LADWP EV Programs
Plug in and save with EV rebates and special rates
LADWP is committed to a clean energy future, and we’re putting our customers first when it comes to helping more Angelenos “drive electric.” With our Electric Transportation Programs, we’re creating EV communities across Los Angeles. Check out our great programs and resources to help you Charge Up! in your neighborhood. Programs include:
Used EV Rebate
LADWP now offers a rebate of up to $1,500 toward an eligible used EV purchase, making these vehicles more accessible to all. All permanent residents receiving electric service from LADWP are eligible. You don’t need to be an LADWP account holder to qualify.
EV Charger Rebates
The most popular choices for charging EVs at home are to plug into a standard outlet or install a Level 2 charger (for faster charging). LADWP offers a great rebate toward the purchase of a Level 2 home EV charger. Installation costs are not included. LADWP also offers rebates for EV chargers installed by commercial customers (including multi-unit dwellings). LADWP’s goal is to encourage the widespread installation of EV charging stations throughout LA.
Special EV Rate
EV owners who charge at night and on weekends can save on charging cost with our special EV rate discount. Call the Charge Up LA! Support Team at 866-484-0433 for help determining which rate plan best fits your needs.
To support convenient EV travel throughout the Los Angeles region, LADWP is collaborating with neighboring utilities and municipal and regional government agencies to install EV chargers across the Southland. LADWP is installing public charging stations at LADWP customer service centers and other public locations.

Electrify America’s goal is to promote greater Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) adoption by offering an ultrafast and convenient charging network. This will fuel today’s EVs, as well as the rapid growth in EV models expected from many car companies between now and the early 2020s. Electrify America is also committed to building education and awareness of zero-emission vehicles through brand-neutral outreach, discover-and-drive events, and other marketing approaches. As an organization, we are also working with local, state, and national organizations, as well as vehicle manufacturers, to create more opportunities to enhance ZEV awareness. The Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) provides rebates up to $7,000 for the purchase or lease of new, eligible zero-emission and plug-in hybrid light-duty vehicles in California. Since 2009, CVRP has issued more than $800 million in rebates for individuals, nonprofits, government entities and business owners. The project is part of California Climate Investments, which uses proceeds from the state's cap-and-trade auctions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide other benefits. The Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) serves as CVRP’s statewide administrator on behalf of the California Air Resources Board. In addition to issuing rebates, CSE facilitates clean vehicle education and outreach events throughout the state, collects program statistics and conducts surveys of CVRP recipients.
